In another life, J is a blissful algebraic number theorist; in this one, J will be be the first playwright under the letter “X” at the Drama Book Shop.3

J Xiang (he/she) is a poet-playwright & a failed mathematician. J was the 2024 Lili Elbe Fellow at Lambda Literary’s Emerging Writers Retreat, was an inaugural member of Primary Stage’s Echoes Writers Group, and of Kearny Street Workshop’s Interdisciplinary Writers Lab; has won the Seymour Brick Memorial Prize & Joseph Milton Fee Jr. Awards; a DUAF finalist, & an O’Neill NPC (x3), BAPF (x2), & Colt Coeur Residency semi-finalist.
